How Do I Get Started
Quitting tobacco is a process. Whether you are thinking about quitting, are not yet ready to quit, or have already quit, the Quitline Iowa can help you with each step of the way.
The Quitline Iowa is a FREE online service available to all Iowans. When you become a member, you get special tools, a support team of coaches, research-based information, and a community of others trying to become tobacco free. Our expert coaches can talk to you about overcoming common barriers, such as dealing with stress, fighting cravings, coping with irritability, and controlling weight gain.
We also offer a free telephone service, so you can speak to a coach in person, if you'd prefer. Through the telephone program you may be eligible to receive a free supply of patches, gum or lozenges. Coaches will determine if you are eligible to receive the patches, gum or lozenges, call Quitline Iowa at 1.800.QUIT.NOW (1-800-784-8669).
What if I don't qualify for the Program?
You must be 13 years of age or older to participate in the program. If you want free nicotine patches, gum or lozenges, you must be 18 years of age or older. It may also be helpful to discuss quitting with your doctor.
